Episode 2: Female Perpetrators: The Role of Women in Child Sexual Exploitation (Part 2)

(Original  air date 12/08/16)

Episode Description

It is a well known fact that women and children are the most exploited victims of sexual exploitation. No doubt about it.

What most of society does not recognize is the significant number of cases where women are the perpetrators. Approximately 60% of cases posted on the Million Kids Facebook Page involve a female as a perpetrator. Surprisingly, many females are involved with child pornography. Sometimes, the perpetrator is the victim’s own mother.

In sex trafficking cases, the woman often acts as a “bottom girl,” who does the recruiting, training, marketing and management of the girls being exploited. In some instances, the “bottom girl” is as severely abused and exploited as the victims. In other instances, she is a hardened sociopath, who inflicts a more severe punishment and exploitation than the males involved in sex trafficking rings.

Join us as we continue to explore several cases where the female is the perpetrator. We will examine large-scale Asian and Latin American sex trafficking rings led by women, as well as individual cases where women aggressively exploited victims of child sex trafficking. We will look at cases where women were prosecuted for producing and/or collecting large libraries of child pornography. We will try to understand the psychological aspects of female-dominated exploitation and the impact on the victim. We will also explore if there is a different standard of sentencing when the perpetrator is a woman.

Episode 8: A Hard Look at the Selling of the Vulnerable

(Original air date 01/19/17)

Episode Description

I believe that the selling of another person’s body is one of the lowest crimes on earth. It is hard to look at but I believe if we don’t do that, then how do we stop it?  This week we are going to look at the “selling” process involved in human trafficking.

Backpage.com this week made national headlines because they were “shutting down” the adult ads in the “Escort”section of their website. Those sneaky little buggers (a Christian substitute for what I am really thinking) simply moved the ads to the “Dating” section. So we will spend some time understanding ads and what they really mean. We will also look at the many ways traffickers “market” their prey. It is important for all of us to recognize that what we are seeing is not OK but is in fact the total exploitation of another human being.

Join us this week  as as we explore how the marketing of exploitation takes place in the US and around the globe. The call in number for the live show in the U.S. is: 1-866-472-5788

California Senate Bill SB1322 passed earlier this year, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown, became effective January 1, 2017.The law was designed by activists and legislators to protect minors from being arrested for prostitution. Episode 3: The Impact of Technology on Crime Fighting

(Original  air date 12/15/16)

Episode Description

The internet is changing nearly everything about our lives. Take TRUTH for example. There was a time, not too long ago that we all believed that if it was in writing it was true. Reporters were fired for printing untrue statements.

Today we have FAKE NEWS. Even Wikipedia states that some of their postings are untrue. A recent study by National Public Radio indicates that students cannot tell the difference between an advertisement or a news story.

Why does that matter? How does a young person know if the person they are chatting with, or even falling in love with is telling them the truth. Photos are altered, court cases are influenced by videos, our leaders proclaim propaganda in the name of FACT, and newscasters twist and maneuver factual statements to fit their political position.

Now we have disappearing video and encrypted messaging. We have live streaming that is instantaneous and then poof it is gone. We have anonymous and non-traceable currency.

Join us Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 7a.m. PST as we explore how these dramatic technology changes are going to challenge ALL of US as we fight to keep our kids safe from predators.

(Original  air date 12/22/16)

Episode Description

It is the time of year where families gather, we all eat too much, and there are gifts and toys overflowing. Throughout the world, we all relax and indulge ourselves, including our children. It is also the time of year where young people receive cell phones, iPads, Xbox, PS4 and other video games. Most of us have no comprehension of what is in the game when we purchase them. But, our kids are begging and pleading and assuring us that “everyone” but them has this latest technology and “they don’t want to be left out.” And so, we capitulate and pray that our child(ren) will be an exception to the rule, use good judgement and be safe while using this technology.

This week on Exploited – Crimes Against Humanity, Million Kids will explore how predators use online gaming and chat rooms to access, groom, recruit and exploit our young people. We will examine the impact of animated sex (soon to be virtual reality sex) and violence, the occult, and  sorcery. We will look at the Tetris Effect as a player is obsessed with score-keeping and performance. And, we will look at the need of the player to be “part of the team” — rising and falling with acceptance and rejection based on his or her performance in the game and support of the team. We will also look at the addiction process of a fantasy world.

Join us as we take an inside look at the phenomena of online video gaming and how to use technology to build a dialogue and keep your child safe from predators. And, we will look at resources for parents if their child is headed for trouble.
